A TOP school debater is set to represent Wales for the third time in an international contest.
Josephine Maidment, from Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, has been a member of the Welsh schools debating team for the past two years, when they competed in the world championships in Athens and Qatar.
To help her with her expenses for this year’s competition in Dundee, Scotland, the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland has presented Josephine with a cheque for £100.
She has been a regular winner in the Youth Speaks competitions arranged by the club at both junior and senior levels, and has also taken part in the Oxford Debating Championships and the European Youth Parliament.
Josephine, of Robeston Wathen, hopes to go on to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, and will also be presented with her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award this autumn.
