PEMBROKESHIRE with its spectacular coastline and landscape, its wonderful range of activities on land and sea, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
But recently many have been drawn by a different attraction - the Pembrokeshire County Run.
Since the first event on Sunday September 6th, 1998, the Pembrokeshire County Run has not only taken a prestigious place in the county's annual calendar of major events, but it is regarded by many as "the best in Wales"
The event was inaugurated, by husband and wife Jeff and Sian Edwards of Milford Haven, who are not only both Rover and Morris Minor enthuasits, but are still organising the event all these years on!
The event is sponsored by the WESTERN TELEGRAPH, PEMBROKESHIRE ROAD TRAINING and the WEST WALES CAR CLUB who are taking charge of all the marshalling at both the Start and Finish Lines.
Grateful thanks also goes to RWE npower for sponsoring the PA system and to the Paul Kelly Disco Roadshow for their kindness entertaining everyone at both the Start and Finish Lines.
As we enter the second decade of the 21st century, the Run faces its first real major change in its history ... a NEW Start and Finish Line at the PEMBROKESHIRE COUNTY SHOWGROUND, which will enable ALL the vehicles to park together with the greatest of ease!
We are very grateful to the PEMBROKESHIRE AGRICULTRAL SOCIETY in allowing us to use their magnificent Showground for our 2010 Run.
And due to us using this venue as both the Start and Finish Line vehicles will be able to tour along an extended 14 mile route going in a complete circle of the county and witnessing many new and fantastic sights never witnessed before in the events history .. thus making the 2010 Run well and truly a COUNTY Run!
