Dear Editor - Having spent a few days in the coronary care unit of Withybush Hospital I am grateful for all the care given to me and also from the paramedics in the ambulance.
It was brought home to me how necessary it is to keep Withybush functioning instead of building a new hospital at Whitland.
The money saved could then be used to upgrade Withybush and Glangwili Hospitals.

qDear Editor - regarding Withybush Hospital: what next?
Thousands attended the consultation meetings organised by Pembrokeshire Local Health Board's project team to hear plans either to close or to downgrade the health services at Withybush.
Unanimously, the people of Pembrokeshire attending the meetings rejected the proposals and at the 800-strong meeting at Haverfordwest, they voted in support of a third option to retain and even upgrade Withybush.
I assume those who attended other meetings agreed. So, what next?
Maybe various alternative versions of option three will emerge for consideration in the consultancy process.
What is important is that the voice of Pembrokeshire people should continue to be heard, opposing any plan to close or downgrade Withybush.
Ron Weedon Landshipping Dear Editor - I was saddened to hear the news that Withybush Hospital might close.
I have a great affinity with that hospital, because I was a patient there in 1994.
I was on holiday in Tenby when I started to have severe chest pains.
After initial treatment at the local medical centre, I was rushed to Withybush by ambulance.
During the first night of my stay, I had a severe heart attack, but all the staff were wonderful and saved my life with their prompt action.
I would like to make a personal plea to keep this wonderful hospital open.
Withybush has served the community well.
