Dear Editor - I am confused by your report Policy of destruction exposed'. Whose policy is this - the Chief Officers' Management Board or the elected councillors?
Then comes the Freedom of Information Act and the uninformed officer responsible for this, and councillors, who were supposedly also not informed. The media should ask why are they so naive and why have streetwise civil servants been able to pull the wool over their eyes.
The question of who voted for what and when is irrelevant and what the electorate will need to know is who is responsible for its conception and implementation.
The Welsh Assembly will need to take another look at the performance levels of all senior civil servants at Pembrokeshire County Council before they indulge in salary increases for them, especially as there is still £1.5m left in the till.
