dear editor - It is a little ironic that, since the matter of the salary increase of £28,000 for the chief executive of Pembrokeshire County Council, attention has been drawn to the sad case of a physical training instructor who has a brain disorder.
The figure quoted for the cost of his operation was also £28,000 and I remember that Assembly Minister Sue Essex said £1.5million was allocated to the Assembly for salary increases in the coming year to civil servants.
How can our elected representatives reconcile this unwarranted largesse for civil servants to the needs of vulnerable and disabled citizens?
