Brrrrrrr! The woolly mammoth is making a comeback - on a stamp launched by Royal Mail - with an (n)icy surprise for competition winners!
Released at the same time as Manny, Sid and Diego return to the big screen in top film Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, the Ice Age animals stamps feature five hairy and scary beasts that roamed Britain tens of thousands of years ago.
Presspackers can win a Royal Mail presentation pack of the magnificent animals in miniature in carefully-worked drawings created on the stamps.
Taking centre stage on the first class stamp is a sabre-tooth cat. He may have died out around 400,000 years ago, but weighing in at the same size of a lion, he remains a savage reminder of what our ancestors had to live with. A woolly mammoth, cave bear, giant deer and woolly rhino are also depicted on the stamps.
Remains of all of the creatures have been found across the UK.
The National Museum Cardiff is home to some of the Ice Age creatures and is open to the public free of charge for a great family Easter-time outing.
Gareth Davies, Head of Welsh Affairs, Royal Mail Group, said: "I'm delighted that millions of people will get the chance to see some of these amazing animals once again, but this time from the safety of a stamp! "Royal Mail's special stamp programme is renowned for its variety of first class design approaches and Andrew Davidson's beautifully detailed engravings work perfectly with this issue."
To win a Presentation Pack all you have to do is answer the following question: What is the name of the Mammoth in the Ice Age films?
