Whitland 49 Llangennech 6 Whitland produced one of their best performances of the season to beat Llangennech, opening up a deserved 17-6 interval lead and calling the shots afterwards to add another 32 points without reply.
Llangennech fly half Mark Jones missed an early penalty then slotted two kicks either side of a good Whitland try that was claimed by Raff Williams after a powerful forward rumble.
Then livewire flanker Ryan Michel crashed through several tackles to score at the posts and Aled Davies converted before adding a penalty as reward for the Borderers' forward play in which skipper Randall Williams, Aled Harries, Alun Davies and Raff Williams caught the eye.
Aled Davies and half back partner Andrew Jenkins really turned the screw after the interval as Davies pinned Llangennech back with some raking kicks and Jenkins probed tirelessly in conjunction with his back row.
Aled Davies dummied over for a try that he converted following sustained forward pressure and after Davies had also added a penalty Phil Morgan came on as flanker and scored a try as he emerged from a strong drive to claim a try that Aled Davies again converted.
As Llangennech folded under the heavy home artillery, winger Will Davies did well to reach the corner for an unconverted try before Ryan Michael's diagonal run brought him his second score in the right corner.
It was appropriate that skipper Randall Williams should round off the Borderers' scoring with a try that keeps Whitland very much in line for second spot in the table - and fully deserved for their strong play throughout most of a very long and testing season.
