Floyd Vaughan and Adam Goy, two local Woolworths employees, have been training hard over the last few months for this weekend's annual London Marathon.
They are running through the Woolworths Kids First charity to raise as much money as possible for two worthwhile causes.
The deserving charities are the special care baby unit in Withybush Hospital and Ty Hafan Children's Hospice of Wales, which cares for and provides children with respite, palliative and end of life care.
Adam and Floyd visited the hospice last week to see for themselves all the hard work that is done there. "It was a moving and inspirational experience" said Floyd and Adam, "especially when we met the children who all had wonderful, positive personalities.
"It's fantastic work which is carried out at the hospice and hard to believe that a lot of it is done voluntary."
Adam is the assistant manager in the Milford Haven branch and is running his first marathon. He is aiming to achieve the run in four hours.
This will be Floyd's second go and he is hoping to beat his previous time of 4 hours 25 minutes, which he achieved in 1990. Floyd works in the Cardigan branch of Woolworths.
Anyone wishing to support the two runners can contact Floyd on 01239 612473 or Adam on 01646 692518 or call in to a Woolworths store. You can track their fund raising progress and show your support by sponsoring them on their website www.justgiving.com/floydvaughan.
