Whitland 36 Llanharan 10 Two tries by centre Gary Evans helped Whitland gain another good home victory as they comfortably accounted for old rivals Llanharan at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn.
It was livewire flanker Phil Morgan who opened the scoring with an opportunist try after outside half Aled Davies had hit the post from a penalty attempt.
The Dairymen did fight back with a penalty by scrum half Craig Jones.
Aled Davies added seven points to the home total when Andrew Jenkins set him on a run to the posts for a try and conversion before the Borderers made it 19-3 at the interval after good work by Celt Thomas, skipper Randall Williams and Andrew Morrillo took play close and from the resulting lineout take by Raff Williams, second row partner Carwyn Davies claimed the try from a controlled surge to the line for namesake Aled to add the extra points.
Morgan and opposing captain Gareth Edwards were sin-binned in the second period, but the Borderers marched on with a try by Will Davies after some neat touches from Eifion Roberts.
Llanharan claimed their only try when replacement flanker Emmett McLaughlin ploughed over and Jones converted, but Gary Evans grabbed two tries for Whitland, the centre intercepting on half way and racing 50 metres for Davies to convert, and add a late unconverted try as a bonus.
