Llangwm 25 St Davids 5 Three late tries gave Llangwm a deserved victory over St Davids.
The Saints also played their part in an entertaining tussle but failed to make good use of the strong breeze and slope in the first period.
The visitors scored a cracking try but were only 5-3 in front as the Wasps drove well into the wind and their midfield quartet of Ian Griffiths, Andrew and Jonathan Slark, plus Danny Chesmer, made sure that their pack kept going forward.
Graham Badham was strong at full back and the odds were very much in Llangwm's favour as they wore down the Saints' resistance to grab those tries in the last 15 minutes to give the final margin a slightly flattering look which didn't show the Saints' performance to the full.
Colin Reynolds, back in action at full back for St Davids at 48 years of age, missed a drop goal attempt and early penalty before the Wasps took the lead after 12 minutes when Badham slotted an easy penalty.
St Davids responded after 25 minutes when a Jack Dudley charge set up a ruck where gritty scrum half Adam Challoner set his backs in motion and a mis-move orchestrated by partner Phil Lamb allowed Sion Morgan to slice through from 30 metres out for an unconverted try, beating two would-be tacklers in the process.
But the Saints were unable to keep the home pack quiet.
Simon Brick, skipper Johnnie James, Roger Morgan and Hamish Nicholls were key ball winners. JoJo Francis and Dai Thomas also covered well and the Wasps were just two points adrift at the break.
They recaptured a lead they were never to lose within two minutes of the restart when Simon Brick charged over in the bottom right corner.
St Davids deserve credit for their hard work, with Gethin Bateman, Steve Morris and Darren Davies all playing well up front but they were unable to really put Llangwm under pressure in their own 22.
The Wasps made sure of victory when Graham Badham followed up a canny little kick ahead by Jonathan Slark to gain the touch-down before JoJo Francis side-stepped through from the 22 and fellow winger Dai Thomas was put clear from 35 metres by young replacement Adam Morgan on a run to the posts.
Badham added the extra points to give Llangwm the double, having already won by 15-7 in St Davids.
The match was sponsored by Phil Moore. Stan Evans was the match ball sponsor.
