Penclawdd 39 Tenby United 26 Tenby showed how much they have improved recently under Neil Machin as they pushed league leaders Penclawdd all the way before the Cocklemen eventually won their 17th match in 18 outings.
The Seasiders caused a few ripples when they lead 14-6 early on, with their pack playing really well as Sam Smith, Steve 'Jesse' James and Harry Bolton were quick to the break-down and the tight five of Mike Lewis, Marks Badham and Brace, Gareth Edwards and Wyndham Williams were in the thick of things.
The Cocklemen were back in the lead by 21-14 at half time and eventually went on to win with a final scoreline that was a little flattering because they had been pushed all the way by a Seasiders' outfit where Neil Powling and Will Crockford had played well at half back and centres Mark Heywood and Paul Luger posed a threat every time they had the ball in hand.
Wingers Randall Watkins and James Davies grabbed good tries for Tenby, with Davies also contributing three conversions. There were also tries by dynamic number eight Sam Smith and replacement Ollie Symons, on for Llewellyn Rose at full back.
Flanker Carl Long (2) and number eight Stuart Barrow claimed the Penclawdd tries and full back Rhys Williams contributed 21 points from his accurate place kicking, with number ten Gareth James chipping in with a drop goal. It left Tenby still near the foot of the table but playing really well and showing what they can do against the top side in the section.
