A SLICE of good health can now be served up by Pembrokeshire's daily bread.
If you want to keep stress at bay or boost your brain function, then a duo of new loaves cooked up by the award-winning Sir Benfro Bakery could be just what the doctor ordered.
The Omega Bread and Prokorn loaves were launched at Haverfordwest's Farmers' Market on Friday by the Whitland-based bakery.
"They are not only delicious, multi-grain breads but are packed full of ingredients proven to have great health benefits," said baker Kevin Reeve, who set up Sir Benfro with his wife Jo and family two years ago.
Shoppers at the market were treated to tastes of the two new loaves, which each boast their own health boost.
The Omega bread contains Omega 3 to help improve brain, lung and artery function, while Prokorn has extra calcium and stress-busting magnesium, is rich in phosporous and iron and has low sodium and no cholesterol.
"The loaves have come out brilliantly in trials," said Kevin. "People are really going for this sort of thing with the trend for healthier eating, and we don't see why our customers in Wales can't have a share of it as well."
Now Sir Benfro Bakery - holder of the Welsh Baker of the Year title - will be adding the healthy loaves to their range of over 200 different bread products, which include the best-selling Pembrokeshire loaf.
