Tenby 1 Monkton Swifts 1
Honours ended even at The Clicketts as Monkton Swifts shared two goals with a Tenby side which has been in good form and looked the better side before the break but failed to find the net more than once as Swifts' veteran keeper Maurice Jones made a couple of important saves.
Home manager Steve Maytum was disappointed with a draw but praised the Swifts' defence for denying Ricky Morgan much space - and listed the saves made by 46-year-old Jones as another factor after Jones had again been forced between the sticks because of the unavailability of regular incumbent Wayne Reynolds.
Morgan and Scott McLaughlin posed a real threat from the start but Jonathan Hangar organised things well at the back for the Swifts, who took the lead a little against the run of play when Lee Jones and James Archer combined to release Barry Dilworth, who fired the ball past Dewi Davies in the Tenby goal.
It took the Seasiders ten minutes to pull level when Steve Hanlon released McLaughlin, who drilled a left-foot shot into the top corner to give Jones no chance in the Swifts' goal.
Jones also pushed a coupe of other drives over the bar as Tenby pushed Dominic Subbiani and Anthony Griffiths forward but defences still held firm.
There were nice little cameos from Deryn Brace and Neil Finlay at the heart of the Tenby defence while Aaron Butland and Mike Canton showed what talent they possess for youngsters in the Swifts' camp - but with no further goals the teams who are both in the top five of the table had to settle for a point apiece. The match ball was sponsored by the Bush Inn.
