Seven Sisters 11 Narberth 51
A hat-trick of tries by pacy winger Andrew Jones helped Narberth to their ninth successive victory in the Division Two stakes, the Otters leading 22-6 at the interval and showing what a strong squad they now have as Aled Davies switched from full back to fly half to cover for the injured Simon Daniel and made sure that his backs had chances to show their running ability.
Wil Morgan returned to full back and John Whitticombe was back in action on the wing as the Otters ran in seven tries and Aled Davies claimed the other 16 points from his trusty right boot.
The only black spot on the horizon for Narberth as they extended their lead at the top of the table was the fact that experienced centre Tevita Manaseitava suffered a suspected broken arm and will be out for some time.
They were also a little slow to get into their rhythm against a physically strong Seven Sisters' side and found themselves six points adrift as home kicker Tudor Rees landed penalties in the second and 30th minutes.
But then the Otters switched into overdrive and after Aled Davies had reduced the deficit with a penalty they took the lead when Alan Reynolds stood out at a ruck and a long pass allowed him to crash over in the corner for an unconverted try.
It gave them the lead they were never to lose as Andrew Jones scorched away for his first try and lock Emori Kaletau was driven over the line, both tries converted by Davies.
The second half started well for Narberth as Chris MacDonald looked sharp at the base of the scrum as he linked with 'Santa' Reynolds, Gareth Bennett and John Bowen.
Centre Andrew Bowen continued his good form and it came as no surprise when Jones added his second try, with Davies slotting the conversion and his second penalty before adding the extras to the second score claimed by second row Emori Kaletau, who was working well in the ball-winning stakes alongside Jamie Bohata, Kevin Davies, Alan Phillips and Chris Flattery.
Seven Sisters grabbed a consolation try but with no public address system at the ground it was impossible to recognise the scorer in the pile-up of bodies - but there was no doubt when Andrew Jones scored his third try to confirm his choice as man of the match.
No 8 Bennett rounded off the scoring and both tries were goaled by Davies to set the seal on a fine victory for Narberth, who now face Builth Wells (away) in the Principality Cup this Saturday - and even bigger challenge seven days later when the students of UWIC go to the Lewis Lloyd Ground for a top of the table clash against the Otters.
