Tenby 0 Goodwick 3

Goodwick sent an ominius warning to any side that had written them off this campaign, with a thrilling 3-0 victory over an in-form Tenby side.

The Seasiders had beaten the visitors in an earlier league encounter and the north Pembrokeshire outfit were eager to get one back over them.

Another source of motivation was the fact that an early cup exit would basically end their season before it had even begun.

Goodwick manager Sean O'Connor was full of praise for the way his team played, especially in the first half when all the goals were scored.

"We were superb," he said. "We played brilliant football and were all over them, we could have gone into the interval five goals up."

It mattered little that they didn't because at the end of 45 minutes the game was basically over. Through the industry of Mike A'Hearne and James Dean in midfield, they were all over Tenby like a rash and Tenby keeper Dewi Davies was constantly in action throughout.

The visitors evenyually took the lead when in-form defender John Bailey rose high to powerfully header a free kick home.

tenby did have their chances through Scott McGlaughlin and James Thomas but they found James Gwilt in inpired form between the sticks and he brought off a couple of brilliant saves.

Mike A'Hearne was the next to score with a clinical finish after Dewi Davies made a mistake in goal.

Goodwick were creating chances at will and should have scored through Dean and Ryan Thomas but Davies stood firm. Unfortunately for him however, he could do nothing to stop a quality finish by Steve Summers who scored their thrid and final goal.

tenby did come back into it more in the second half as Sam Edwards came on to show his class in Midfield but with Gwilt in such fine form it was always going to be a tall ask and Goodwick ended up deserved winners.
