Western Telegraph readers have certainly not had the blues over the colour of West Wales Properties offices in Haverfordwest (pictured).

In fact, they have come out in full support of the Victorian blue which has become a trade mark of the estate agents offices throughout Pembrokeshire.

They say that bright colours brighten up our lives and we should not be expected to live in a drab magnolia-coloured world.

The estate agents were amazed when Pembrokeshire County Councils colour police issued an enforcement notice to change the colour of the firms riverfront premises at Victoria Place - clearly visible from nearby County Hall.

The same colour has been used for the companys Pembroke, Tenby, Narberth and Milford Haven offices.

West Wales Properties principal Neil Evans said an appeal had been submitted.

The story was highlighted on the front page of the Western Telegraph last week and there was an immediate public outcry.

We have had an amazing reaction, said Mr Evans.

Staff have told me that a lot of people have come in giving their support to the colour. Some have also asked if we have started a petition and offering to sign.

We have not done so because we are appealing against the enforcement notice.

We want to handle this in a professional way, so I do not want to comment too much.

We have now stated our case to the Welsh Office and the appeal hearing will be in January.

But the public is determined to have its say.

Letters and telephone calls have come into the Western Telegraphs offices. And some readers have pointed out that the new Primary School in Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, is an even brighter blue.
