A kitten called Buttons contributed to a power cut after she zipped up a power pole in Trecwn on Saturday.

A resident spotted the kitten climbing the pole and went to tell Mrs Mason of 42 Wesley Place, Trecwn, thinking that it was her kitten, Jesse. In fact it was Jesses sister, Buttons, who belongs to Mrs Dilys Jones, of 35 Wesley Place.

The electricity board was contacted to rescue the kitten.

Buttons had already been stuck up the pole for a few hours before the electricity board could get to her. The rescue had to be very well planned out as one wrong move and the she would have been electrocuted.

The electricity supply was turned off for about half an hour while Buttons was rescued brought to safety. She was then returned to her owner by Paul Sinnett

Mrs Jones said: Buttons is a very loving cat, and I think that she has learned her lesson. * Buttons is pictured back in the arms of her owner, Mrs Dilys Jones.
