Camrose 1 Tenby 1
Camrose received a moral boosting result on the weekend when they drew with second placed Tenby after the visitors had the majority of possession and plenty of opportunities to put the game beyond doubt.
Steve Maytum and Deryn Brace have combined to build a side capable of playing attractive football and this is what Tenby did in the first half when they created many opportunities to score.
They took the lead as early as the seventh minute when Neil Finlay had a shot at goal following a free kick by Ryan Lawrence. His effort was well stopped by Trevor Wright but the ball went loose and Scott McLaughlin was on hand to tap the ball home.
McLaughlin had another chance to extend the lead when he had a one on one with Wright but the keeper did well to save. Tenby, dominant at this point were creating chances at will and it looked as though Anthony Griffiths had put them into the lead when he headed home only for the referee to blow up for offside.
Camrose came back strongly in the second half and put pressure on Tenbys goal. This pressure told mid-way through the half when a shot at goal was deliberately hand balled by Deryn Brace and he was sent off. From the ensuing penalty kick, Dai Davies made no mistake and slotted the ball home.
Both sides had further chances to score but a draw was definitely a fair result.
