TENBY ACTOR Charles Dale stole the show on weekend television when he won the Coronation Street celebrity Stars in Their Eyes.
Currently at the centre of attention in The Street as his character, the lovable Dennis Stringer, leaves his partner for Janice Battersby, Charles (pictured) won the audience vote for his storming performance as Joe Cocker.
And the proudest member of the audience was his father, Laurie Dale, who could be seen wiping away a tear as his son sang Ill Get By With a Little Help From My Friends.
Former Greenhill School pupil Charles, who began his stage career in Tenby singing and acting alongside his dad in the towns Gang Shows, joined fellow Coronation Street stars Vicky Entwhistle, Liz Dawn, Suranne Jones and Scott Wright for the special edition of Stars In Their Eyes on Saturday.
The following nights edition of Coronation Street saw him in one of the most dramatic scenes in his two years of appearances in the top soap, as he and Janice made the break from their partners to start a new life together.
But his days in Coronation Street are numbered, for he is scheduled to be killed off on New Years Eve.
But he will soon be back on the television screens - his third series of the popular BBC Wales drama Belonging will begin in December, while in the New Year he starts filming for another new BBC series.
