With Christmas and the New Year approaching, Pembrokeshire County Councils licensing team is advising the public to use only licensed taxis.
Comprehensive checks are made on vehicles and suitability of licensed drivers prior to licensing, including ensuring that insurance cover is provided.
A licensed Hackney Carriage can be identified by: l A yellow plate on the rear, bearing the licence number, number of people it is licensed to carry, the registration mark and the vehicles make. l The roof light. l Taxi meter. l Table of fares. l A white plate inside the vehicle, bearing the licence number and the number of people it is licensed to carry. A Private Hire Vehicle can be recognised by: l A white plate on the front and rear, bearing the licence number, the number of people it is licensed to carry, the registration mark and the make. l A white plate inside, bearing the licence number and the number of people it is licensed to carry. A licensed driver can be identified by an identification badge bearing his licence number and photograph.
