Tenby 4 Camrose 0

Referee: Ian Baxter

Player unavailability and an ever changing side appears to be costing Camrose dearly this season as Saturdays result shows.

Take nothing away from Tenby, they played superbly, but it was the visitors performance in the first half that put the result beyond doubt, a fact confirmed by their manager Derek Roberts:

It was not a good first half. We seemed to lack commitment and we struggled. Saying that, Tenby played very well.

Indeed they did and they retain their four point advantage over third placed Pennar Robins although Bobby Bells side do have four games in hand over the talented Seasiders.

With Ricky Morgan on duty up front and Deryn Brace influential in mid-field, the home side were able to string a number of good moves together which bamboozled the visiting defence and plenty of chances were created.

Morgan would have put his side 1-0 to the good had his well taken goal not been disallowed for off-side in the 18th minute but they soon scored after a three man build up involving Anthony Griffiths, Ryan Lawrence and Greg Helmich allowed the latter to slip the ball low to the left of Camrose keeper Trevor Wright.

With pressure mounting on Camrose further chances fell to Neil Finlay and Griffiths but neither could convert until the second was finally scored by Deryn Brace following a James Thomas cross.

Camroses misery was compounded right on the stroke of half time as a corner by Ryan Lawrence sailed straight into the back of the net.

Tenby created chances galore in the second half with Morgan shooting over the bar and Lawrence shooting wide and as Wright found himself under enormous pressure his counterpart for Tenby, Dewi Davies, found himself with virtually nothing to do.

Tenby gave a run out to Josh Freeman, who is having a spell playing football while he serves a ban from playing rugby for Llanelli U21s and he almost scored with his very first touch of the ball but shot just wide.

Finally, they scored their fourth two minutes from time as good work down the right by James Thomas allowed Helmich to charge in and grab his second.

It was no more than he and his team mates deserved and with the season almost half way through its league campaign a top three spot looks a good bet for the Seasiders while consistency is the key for Camrose if they are to improve on their fourth from bottom position.
