A PEMBROKE Dock performer has hit the perfect note by singing her way into the BBC Wales Just Up Your Street final.
Nineteen-year-old Katie Morgan, beat off competition from 1500 pop star wannabes to claim one of only 16 places in the talent show final.
"Last year Katie got down to the last 40, but just missed out on getting on to the show," her mother, Susan explained.
"I'm so proud of her for trying again and not giving up.
"I don't even think she realises what a big achievement it is to get down to the last 40 two years running and beating 1500 other entrants."
The singing sensation, who recently claimed third spot in the Pembrokeshire Idol competition, took her place in the final after impressing judges with her rendition of Bonnie Raitt's, I Can't Make You Love Me, and Katie Melua's, Crawling Up A Hill.
"I'd never heard of either of the songs, but the judges loved them," admitted Susan, who described the final audition and nine-hour wait for the judges decision as the most nerve-wracking day of her life.
Katie, who has a 21-month-old son, James, is now hoping the BBC Wales show, which will be televised next February, will be the start of successful career as a professional singer.
