Dear Editor, - I can understand G. Thomas, of Hubberston, being anxious to work on the LNG plant construction. He might be lucky to get a job, but most experienced workers for the construction and certainly the small maintenance crew, when established, will not be from this area.
He should also get to grips with some very real facts, which are very different to the LNG promotional material proclaimed by Jackie Lawrence.
Dr Ronald Koopman, who conducted the risk assessment in America, states that it should be off shore or remote. The Haven approach comes into the equation as well as the Waterston site and there are large communities, including Hubberston, within the danger area. It is madness to bring it as close as half a mile to some housing.
The Boston site has an armed guard with helicopter cover and a shipping exclusion zone. Would Pembrokeshire provide this?
We will be a terrorist target whether G. Thomas likes it or not. His and my home insurance will increase and probably our homes will devalue. A leakage could form a three mile cloud that hugs the contours of the terrain and ignites easily, to detonate and ignite back to the source taking everything with it.
F. JONES Llanstadwell.
