WORK has begun on the latest affordable housing development in south west Wales, which will see over 120 properties being built on an eight-acre site in Johnston.
Estate agent John Francis has been appointed to market the Pond Bridge project, which has been developed by Swansea-based company, Churchfield Homes.
The development, opposite the Silverdale Inn and Lodge, will offer a mix of two and three-bedroom homes, built to high specification, and has been designed to appeal to a wide range of purchasers, from first-time buyers to couples and families.
"Pond Bridge offers quality housing at affordable prices in a village location," managing director of Churchfield Homes, Bob Jones, said.
Work will be completed in 2007.
Howard Humphries, manager of the Haverfordwest branch of John Francis, said: "Following the traditional summer lull, the Pembrokeshire housing market has recovered and there has been a great deal of activity since the school holidays have ended.
"Initial interest in Pond Bridge has been tremendous and with the range of houses on offer this site will sell quickly."
