HAVERFORDWEST'S Top Town Traders have expressed delight at news that the dismantling of Commerce House was due to begin.
The comments came after the county council announced it had reached a preliminary agreement with a developer to start on the site.
Traders' spokesman Jon Glasby said: "This is the first positive thing we have heard in 15 months. It has been a very difficult time, financially and logistically, as we have tried to operate businesses under these conditions.
"We would be delighted if the site was demolished as soon as possible and the road re-opened."
A county council spokesman was unable to offer a date when work would begin or how long the project would take, but said the authority now had the confidence to get work under way.
