Dear Editor, - In response to the article, published in the Western Telegraph (October 13th) regarding teenagers in Haverfordwest 'being treated like scum'.
The article identifies 19-year-old Jamie who explains that older teenagers in Pembrokeshire do not have anywhere to go. As a young person who was brought up in Pembrokeshire, I can but sympathise with Jamie's situation.
However, I would like to point out to Jamie and all other young people in the county that there is a service available for them.
Gennex 25-7 is a project which bring young people between the ages of seven to 25 together to discuss the issues that are important to them, such as, what they would like to change in the community.
We at Gennex value young people's views, and have the ability to take these views further to local decision makers.
There are Gennex Youth Forums throughout the county, including one in Haverfordwest which meets every three weeks. The service is free for all young people and all are welcomed to join us.
If you would like more information, contact the Gennex team on (01437) 769422 or e-mail us at www.gennex@pavs.org.uk
