In atrocious weather, a large number of Charollais buyers made it to Tymaen, Rhos, Llangeler, Llandysul, recently for the biennial female production sale of the Southam flock.
A huge number of buyers from all parts of the British Isles came to compete for Lionel and Jenny Organ's offering of 130 head of in-lamb shearling ewes and ewe lambs.
In-lambs shearling ewes sold to 3,000gns, average £894.07. Ewe lambs sold to 1,850gns, average £435.25. Nineteen lots made over 1,000gns.
At 2,600gns, a group one ewe by Southam Bob the Builder, and scanned in-lamb with twins, and a successful member of the Southam flock show team, was bought by local showman, Arwyn Thomas of the Arjane flock, Whitland.
