BLUESTONE developers are to begin their drive to contact hundreds of construction, supply and operational workers next week.
The three-day event at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth seeks to attract Pembrokeshire construction contractors, suppliers, tradesmen and labourers, county agri-food producers, potential biomass farmers and local people interested in working at the holiday village development.
UK joint construction partners Alfred McAlpine will meet Pembrokeshire contractors and suppliers on November 17th and tradesmen and labourers on November 18th.
On November 19th, Bluestone will interview food and drink producers on the supplier development programme and representatives of the newly-formed co-operative Pembrokeshire Bio Energy Ltd will speak to local farmers interested in supplying renewable energy crops.
Jobcentre Plus will also speak to potential employees, from management and supervisory to unskilled staff, on all three days.
Alfred McAlpine regional manager Martyn Osborne advised construction industry contractors to book appointments prior to the event. He said: "We need to talk to all potential construction industry contractors and anticipate a large influx. We would urge interested parties to book early."
Bluestone chief executive William McNamara added: "Bluestone will create more than 200 job opportunities in the construction phase, 600 full-time jobs on completion and more than 100 knock-on jobs for suppliers and activity, attraction and accommodation partners.
"This event is the ideal opportunity for anyone interested in working for Bluestone to find out about these opportunities and visit trade stands offering developmental support.
"While we are still awaiting the outcome of the judicial review challenge on one part of the development later this month, this three-day event is intended to move other aspects of the project forward for the benefit of Pembrokeshire as a whole."
The event will be held between 10.30am and 3.30pm and is open to all visitors. For appointments, call Bluestone on 0870 121 11 11.
