SIMON Noble from Pembrokeshire has won the RBS Enterprise Award at an Oscar-style ceremony in Cardiff.
Simon launched SNS Surfboards in St Davids in November 2001, with support from The Prince's Trust Cymru in Pembrokeshire.
His business has grown from its owner's passion for the sport and his desire to increase its profile to become the only large-scale surfboard manufacturer in Pembrokeshire.
Simon received his award from actor Richard Mylan, of Belonging, The Bill and Wild West. The judges were particularly impressed with the contribution Simon had made to the local community and how, even as a small business, he had demonstrated a pro-active corporate social responsibility policy.
Jane James, director, The Prince's Trust Cymru, said: "Simon is like the other 6,000 disadvantaged young people across Wales, who used the support of The Prince's Trust Cymru to get their lives working, and start to reach their full potential. In doing so, he has not only helped himself but has helped the community in which he lives."
They now go on to represent The Prince's Trust Cymru at a UK final, to be held in spring 2005, supported by The RBS Group.
