young cyclists mounted their bikes for the British Heart Foundation Junior Charity Bike Ride on Monday, despite the typical Bank Holiday wind and rain.
More than 60 riders took part in the event at Withybush Showground, raising more than £1,000.
Regional organiser, Julie George, said: "We were about to cancel the event, but despite the weather, the children kept on turning up and we decided to go ahead.
We shortened the course and the children really enjoyed the ride and the road safety event, which we also organised."
There to cheer on the youngsters were two Pembrokeshire heart transplant patients, Mr Terry Fulton, of Haverfordwest, and Mr John Wheeler, of Roch.
Five of Mr Wheeler's seven grandchildren - aged seven to 13 - were taking part in the event.
Mr Fulton, who has for many years been associated with the Pembrokeshire Army Cadets, had his heart transplant operation eight years ago this June at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
Mr Wheeler, of Wuthering Heights, Roch, had his operation in October of the same year. He said: "Things were pretty rough for me before the operation, but since then my life has completely changed."
