Three members of Pembrokeshire College's sports academy gained a valuable insight into one of the most prestigious sports colleges in Britain recently when they travelled to Loughborough in the East Midlands to take part in the British Colleges Sport Championships.
Sian James and Sarah Stanley took part in the badminton event, playing matches against the East Midlands, the North East, North West, South West and the West Midlands.
The pair tested their teamwork skills and improved their game as the tournament progressed, securing a win against the West Midlands and gaining valuable experience in the other matches. They achieved sixth place overall.
The rugby competition was held at Loughborough RFC and the Welsh team consisted of players from Pembrokeshire College (Natalie Walsh), Coleg Sir Gar, Pencoed, Gorseinon and Swansea College.
During the tournament, the rugby team played six matches, winning three and losing three, a performance that secured them fourth place overall in their debut at the British Colleges Sports event.
Both teams are looking forward to returning to the Championships next year.
