Morris reoprts: Calves (33): A similar entry to the previous week sold to a very good trade with a top price of £200 for a Belgian Blue bull presented by Morris, Lower Coxhill Farm, Narberth with heifers selling to £102 for a Limousin from Phillips, Esgerddeugoed, Cwmfelin Mynach. Friesian bulls sold to £15 and averaged £8.

HEIFERS: £102 (Lim) from Phillips, Esgerddeugoed, Cwmfelin Mynach; £94 (Lim) from Rees, Plasbach, Login; £80 (Lim) from Fenni Farms LLP, East Regwm, Whitland.

SHEEP SECTION:

Following the atrocious weather of the Bank Holiday weekend, there was a reduced entry forward, with some 312 approved lambs, hoggetts and sheep offered.

New Season Lambs sold to an overall average of 149.51p per kilo with a top price of 165.10p per kilo for 33 kilo lambs presented by Beynon, Red Hill, Narberth with others realising 162.6p per kilo 30 kilos from Anthony, Geibren Farm, Hendy etc.

Once again we have been contacted by several outlets, who are seeking Farm Assured Lamb and we would suggest that producers register under this scheme.

Hoggetts sold to an overall average of 109.83p per kilo with a top price of 114.50p per kilo for 48 kilo hoggetts presented by Hall, Brynbank, North Road with sheep averaging 104.14p per kilo and selling to a top price of 118.2p

CULL EWES AND RAMS (335):

Another good entry forward once again saw the lighter ewes meeting an improved trade. Top price was £60.50 for some Suffolks from Reynolds & Lawrence, Garndwyrain, Letterston with heavy ewes averaging £40.50 and lighter types selling to a top price of £31.50 and averaging £25.80. Cull rams sold to £51.50 from Edwards, Croesasgwrn, Llangyndeirne and averaged £39.
