Snooker - Jimmy Allen Cup
THE Black Rabbit recently overcame the Power Station to deservedly lift the Jimmy Allen trophy.
The final was staged at the Waterloo Club, Milford Haven, and the format was two frames of singles and two of doubles with aggregate scores combined.
Former county champion John Lloyd gave the Rabbits a perfect start by beating Mike Dreardon (Power Station) by 34 points.
Brett John and Andrew Smith (Black Rabbit) easily overcame David Grey and Martin James to win the first frame of doubles by a clear deficit of 81 points.
In the second frame of singles Keith Williams snr (Black Rabbit) was up against the Power Station's Boyd Parry.
This was a far closer contest as both players potted well, but it was Keith who managed to pot the crucial black and gain the all important victory.
The Black Rabbit had a massive 128 points advantage going into the final frame of doubles which was between Keith Williams jnr and Mike Roberts (Black Rabbit) and Paul White and Kevin Davies.
The match was refereed by president of the Blands Pembrokeshire Snooker League Phil Thomas, who is also a WPSBA professional referee.
While league treasurer Alan Gordon thanked the Waterloo Club for their excellent hospitality and Hughie Llewellyn was praised for the excellent condition of the match table.
