A visit to your local optician can give you the opportunity to choose from a massive range of designer labels - without having to travel too far.
All the top opticians now stock designer label frames and sunglasses, so it's a neat way of getting hold of designer labels at a reasonable cost.
All the big names from Christian Dior to Diesel do ranges, and the only problem for the customer is choosing which ones to go for.
There are a few basic rules when it comes to choosing the right spectacles for your face shape - and that applies as much to sunglasses as to ordinary specs.
Because everyone's face is different it is important to pick the right glasses to suit yours. If you have a round face then large round frames are a no-no - they'll just make you look like Billy Bunter. Instead look out for angular frames, to slim chubby cheekbones. If your face is square, try on wide glasses or round frames, while those with long faces need to pick strong frames to shorten their look.
Oval frames best suit heart-shaped faces.
Look at the way your glasses complement the whole shape of your face. Ones with a heavy lower line will balance out a face wider at the top than the bottom - and vice-versa. Coloured frames are making a comeback - these best suit dark complexions - they can make palefaces look washed out, but the slim, rimless lens suits almost everyone. You may have to try on dozens of pairs before you pick the ones that are just right for you. It's wise to take a trusted friend with you to advise you, but whatever style you pick you know that you'll be taking home a piece of designer chic that you'll wear and wear!
