A NORTH Pembrokeshire community is in mourning as another young man loses his life in a road tragedy.
Ian Hall, aged 19, the son of Martin Hall and his wife Kathy, of Bank Farm, Trefasser, near Fishguard, was killed when his Ford Escort car was in a head-on collision with an unloaded Seddon Atkinson articulated lorry on the A40 Whitland by-pass on Saturday.
Ian worked in the family transport haulage business, W. F. Hall and Son, Goodwick.
He also leaves three sisters and two brothers, Annie, Jess, Katy, Rory and Callum.
The police say the lorry was heading towards Carmarthen and that the point of impact indicates the collision occurred on the eastbound carriageway.
The police statement adds: "For some reason the Escort car crossed the carriageway head-on into the oncoming traffic. It is suspected that the Escort car was in the process of overtaking another vehicle."
Police are appealing for the driver of that vehicle or any others who witnessed the collision at 11.59am to contact their local police station or Dyfed-Powys Police on 0845 3302000.
