The hard work over the winter months has come to fruition for members of the Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club with early season success.

Four members recently travelled up to Harlech, North Wales to take part in the Welsh Sprint Champion-ships (400m pool swim, 32 mile bike leg and, to end, a 5 km run). Fine club performances were put in by Sian Williams and Roger Devonald.

Sian picked up prizes for second in her age group and, more importantly, second in the Welsh championship in a time of 1.51.25.

Roger Devonald, following a injury-disrupted 2004, was seventh overall and managed to secure the Welsh sprint veteran title in a time of 1.40.26.

A very good turnout of 14 club members gathered in Neyland for the annual 10km run organised by the Pembrokeshire Harriers.

Rhiannon Ace was the pick of the bunch scooping the first female prize by some distance in a time of 38.08. Ellie Jones came home third lady, taking the second prize in the open category in a time of 42.21. Val Brown picked up third veteran lady category.

Dave Astins was the first club member home, taking fifth overall in a good time of 37.50.

Llandovery sprint Triathlon proved a good hunting ground for the club in early May, when Roger Devonald maintained his good early season form by collecting the overall winner's trophy.

Also in the silverware were Dave Astins (1st open men), Ellie Jones (1st lady) and Karen Corcoran (1st veteran lady).
