As the season draws to a close, excitement mounts in the race for the horse and jockey championships.
Joint secretaries David and Judy Roach report excellent entries for the Pembrokeshire Hunt event -by far the largest sporting event of the year in the north of the county - to take place on the right handed gallop at Trecoed, near Fishguard, on Saturday.
There are 138 chasers on the seven race card with interesting entries coming from as far afield as Cheshire, Berkshire and Surrey.
In addition there will be two pony races and the Hunt supporters fun race to close what will surely be a pleasurable and enjoyable afternoon.
The first race is at 2pm. Going is said to be good to firm and, if necessary, the course will be watered before the event.
