The Pembrokeshire Bridleways and Byways Association recently presented the Veteran Horse Society with a cheque for £150.
The money was raised through a fun ride for the PBBA members.
The Veteran Horse Society is based at St Dogmels in north Pembrokeshire.
It was founded in 2001 by Julianne Aston, and is the first registered society in the UK and Europe solely dedicated to the older horse and pony.
The centre assists the rehabilitation of veteran horses and ponies over the age of 15.
Years ago, working horses and ponies did not live longer than 15 to 20 years of age, but today horses and ponies are competing at this age at international level, thanks to improved care and welfare awareness and societies such as the Veteran Horse Society.
Funded by donations and sponsorship, the staff at Hendre Fawr have already helped many horses and ponies from a life of suffering. The centre is open to the public by appointment.

The Pembrokeshire Bridleways and Byways Association's next fun ride will be on July 31st.
Contact the secretary Mrs Z. Thomas about the ride and for details of other events to be organised in the summer on 01437 890297, or email wd.thomas1@btopenworld.com.
