Hundreds of grieving youngsters made a sombre pilgrimage to Pembrokeshire yesterday (Sunday) to pay tribute to a friend who died in a road accident.
On the eve of Gavin Collier's 21st birthday, around 100 cars drove in convoy from his home town of Neath to the outskirts of Tenby to visit the site of the tragedy.
Gavin was the front seat passenger in a Peugeot 106 car which crashed after losing control on the Penally by-pass on Wednesday, February 17th.
The driver, 24-year-old Nathan Morris of Tenby, was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, from the scene. He suffered a punctured lung and an arm injury, and is still a patient in the hospital where is described as serious but stable.
Over 1,000 mourners attended Gavin's funeral in Neath on Friday, where he was laid to rest with his mother Janet, who died from cancer.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at around 3.15pm, on Wednesday, February 17th .
In particular, they would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the blue Peugeot 106 in the area before the collision.
Anyone with information should contact PC Justin Williams of Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Unit on 101.
