The charms of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire have been working their magic on the Irish at two major tourism and travel exhibitions in the Emerald Isle.
Tourism officers from both counties joined together to promote the area on a joint south west Wales stand at World Holiday Shows in Belfast and Dublin.
More than 200,000 visitors attended the two events, including I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here star Kim Woodburn, from the How Clean Is Your House programme.
One visitor, Eldon Mitchell from County Down, said: “My wife and I love Wales, especially the south. We have been to Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire many times before, and are returning this year in our caravan.”
Pembrokeshire County Council’s tourism, marketing and development manager, Alan Turner, said: “We have been attending these shows for a number of years, and were delighted our colleagues from Carmarthenshire could join us this year.
“West Wales is popular with Irish visitors, but the response we had this year was more enthusiastic than ever.”
Carmarthenshire’s tourism marketing and development officer, Hywel Davies, added: “It was a real eye-opener for the Irish how much we had to offer.
“The exhibition worked well for both counties, and shows a good working partnership between the tourism departments.”
