For a chance to find out how to make your garden grow, pop down to St Mary's Hall, Fishguard, tonight (Thursday).
Transition Bro Gwaun will be holding a Sowing and Growing event at 7.30pm to provide both new and experienced gardeners with the opportunity to share ideas, learn from the experts and get ideas and advice from a range of gardening groups and organizations.
Tim Young from Spring Meadow Farm will provide ideas about planning for the new season and Kate from the Real Seed Catalogue will talk about seed selection and saving, and there will be a brainstorming session on controlling slugs and snails without the use of chemicals.
There’ll also be information available about Transition Bro Gwaun’s new seedling and plant swap scheme; how to compost, re-cycle and re-use waste in the garden; permaculture, and where to get the best deals on garden supplies. And there will be news on the two new allotment sites in Fishguard and Goodwick; a proposal for a community supported agriculture scheme; garden trials and garden visits.
