A woman found in Haverfordwest with thousands of pounds worth of cocaine has been told to explain her story to a judge.
Sian Elizabeth Powell, aged 39, appeared at Swansea crown court on Friday and admitted possessing 120 grammes of cocaine with intent to supply.
Powell entered a "basis of plea" that the drugs had been inside a holdall she had removed from a Renault Megane owned by Craig Burgess.
Burgess, she said, had not maintained payments for the car and after discovering the drugs she intended to use them as a bargaining tool and to return them to Burgess only after he had given back the car.
David Lindsay, prosecuting, said the circumstances were unusual but the Crown Prosecution Service could not disprove her story.
Judge Keith Thomas said he was not willing to accept Powell's version of events and ruled that she should argue her case before a judge.
Craig Burgess, he said, could be called as witness "but he's not going to say, oh yes, those are my drugs."
Powell, of Church Village, Pontypridd, south Wales, also admitted the theft of a credit card statement, letter and other items belonging to Burgess.
She was granted bail until the next hearing.
