Dear Editor
It was with a heavy heart that I left London’s Appeal Court following the failed appeal of David Thorley a former headteacher of a Pembrokeshire School.
The whole saga of this case has been so misunderstood and a wrong has been done to a man whose contribution to education and the well-being of children has been immense.
I reaffirm (and I know many others feel the same), my support and belief that Mr Thorley is not in any way guilty.
He and his family are paying a very heavy penalty for the wrongdoings of a few along with the culture of fear and perception that surround so many areas of society, including education, today.
