A Hakin man was fined by Haverfordwest magistrates today (Tuesday)after pleading guilty to possession of a class B drug.
Michael Otterbein of 12 Croft Avenue, Hakin admitted possessing 4.8g of amphetamine when searched by police in January.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that at around 11pm on January 24th a car parked behind Tesco, Milford Haven, caught the attention of officers. When searched Otterbein had a quantity of white power on him.
Miss Morgan said that Otterbein told officers: "Don¹t worry it's mine, it's just a bit of speed."
Otterbein said that he was not a regular drug user and had used amphetamine on and off for around a year.
Defending himself, Otterbein told magistrates that he did not have a drug problem and, although unemployed at the moment, he was hoping to start a new job next month.
Otterbein was ordered to pay £165, including a £65 fine, £85 court costs and £15 victim surcharge.
