A controlled explosion of a suspect package was carried out outside Bush Street Dental Surgery, Pembroke Dock in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
A suspect package was spotted outside the surgery at around 9.45pm on Sunday, February 14th, by a member of the public who alerted staff at the Bush Tavern, who raised the alarm.
Residents were evacuated at around 10.30pm and were not allowed back to the area until 6.15am, after an army bomb disposal unit had conducted a controlled explosion of the package, which turned out to be a ‘hoax device’.
Linda Tyseo, Landlady of the next door Bush Tavern, said: "A young lad came in to the pub and said there was a strange package on the doorstep of the Dentist, so we thought we'd better call the police. He said the box was actually ticking."
An incident room has been set up at Pembroke Dock police station and Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information regarding this incident, or may have seen anything suspicious in the area at or around the relevant time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dyfed – Powys Police on 101.
