CredCer credit union is offering potential savers the chance to find out more about their savings and loans offers, and young savers the chance to try out the new Wii games, at a coffee morning tomorrow (Saturday).
CredCer's Wii coffee morning starts at 10am in Hermon community centre and will offer plenty of information on how the union can assist local people and families.
The local bank has grown hugely in the last year. In January 2009 CredCer credit union had £105,000 of savings from local people, today February 2010 CredCer has £400,000 worth of savings, with children now having saved over £35,000.
Although the Wii will be available for young savers tomorrow, CredCer's interest rates for children are far from wee. The credit union continues to offer 5% instant access returns to children on their savings.
Credcer also offers the facility to save with the Child Trust Fund scheme.
The adult return on savings was set at the last Credcer AGM. Interest varies between 1% to 5% depending how much is saved, adult accounts also offer instant access.
Savers can start saving with as little as £1 and savings in CredCer are covered by the FSA Compensation Scheme of a 100% protection of savings up to £50,000 per person.
Credcer also offers free life insurance on savings and loans, meaning that if a saver passes away their next of kin receive double their, with any loans scraped so that family do not have the burden of repayment.
Flexible loans with low monthly interest rates are available to members.
