THE Welsh Assembly’s enterprise and learning committee has recommended the proposal for providing additional trains to Fishguard, following a two month inquiry.
The proposal for Fishguard to Carmarthen shuttle services is welcome news to the North Pembrokeshire Transport Forum along with regional consortium, the South West Wales Integrated Transport Consortium (SWWITCH) and petitioners to the Welsh Assembly.
Forum chairman Councillor Byron James said: “The North Pembrokeshire Transport Forum warmly welcomes this recommendation, as we have been campaigning for improved services to Fishguard for 10 years. The forum would also like to congratulate Moylegrove students Sam Faulkner and Joanne Griffiths for the success of their Fishguard Trains Petition, which has provided proof of widespread support in north Pembrokeshire for improved train services to Fishguard.”
The Welsh Assembly’s enterprise and learning committee has outlined a wide-ranging set of recommendations aimed at improving rail services all over Wales.
