Celebrity chef Valentine Warner, presenter of the BBC2 series ‘What to Eat Now’ has been announced as host of the annual masterclass at Pembrokeshire Fish Week 2010.
Valentine will be hosting the celebrity chef masterclass at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven on June 30th.
He is among several leading chefs who will be hosting demonstrations, tutored tastings and talks during the week – including a feast of fish cooked by seafood champion, chef and proprietor of the Seahorse, Mitch Tonks, and friends.
“We are really pleased that Val is coming to Fish Week – he has a real passion for food, nature and the outdoors – so we are looking forward to what I am sure will be a fascinating and mouthwatering masterclass,” said Kate Morgan, organiser of Fish Week and food officer for Pembrokeshire County Council.
Other new events planned for Fish Week 2010 are a coasteering and foraging day at Abereiddi, followed by a fish broth on the beach; a cookery course with Welsh chef Angela Gray, and various talks and debates.
The multi award-winning Fish Week, which is organised by Pembrokeshire county council, has recently scooped a host of awards. It won the gold award in the food tourism destination category in the True Taste Food and Drink Awards 2009 and Pembrokeshire Tourism’s ‘Premier Event Award’ 2009/2010.
Fish Week 2009 attracted 25,000 people, many of whom travelled to the county especially for the event. • If you are interested in taking part in Fish Week 2010 contact Cathryn Nicholas on 01437 776171 or email Cathryn.nicholas@pembrokeshire.gov.uk.
