Is your child due to move to secondary school in September 2010?
The deadline for Pembrokeshire parents to apply for a secondary school place for their child for this September is today, January 29th.
Pembrokeshire County Council is urging parents to make every effort to meet this deadline.
Children whose parents make a written application for a school place by the deadline, will be allocated places ahead of those who do not, regardless of their home address.
The form needs to be completed, even if the request is for a school outside Pembrokeshire or a special educational needs unit.
The council said it is not sufficient to inform the headteacher of a child’s primary school verbally, as it is the county council, and not individual secondary schools, which is responsible for admissions.
Anyone who has mislaid the form or has a query, should contact Pembrokeshire county council’s admissions officer on 01437 775030 or write to the Education department, County Hall, Haverfordwest, SA61 1TP.
