The much-loved and popular Pembroke character Connie Brown has died aged 102.
Connie, who opened Brown's Café in the town with her late husband Sidney in 1928, was famous for her hard work and dedication to the family businesses where she continued to serve chips six days a week, long after reaching her 100th birthday.
The great-grandmother, who was awarded an MBE in 2006, also enjoyed some unique birthday celebrations including sporting leathers to take a ride on a motorbike last year and being kidnapped on her 100th birthday.
Mayor of Pembroke, councillor Pearl Llewellyn, paid tribute to Connie and the family-run business, which has attracted so much attention from far and wide.
"Mrs Brown was extremely proud of Pembroke and due to her hard work and commitment to the family business for so many years she brought a great deal of welcome publicity to the town.
"She was a remarkable lady who will be fondly remembered by everyone that knew her and we still fondly remember Connie celebrating her 102nd birthday with a surprise outing around Pembroke on a motorbike," she said.
Details of her funeral will be posted online when they have been confirmed.
